Professor Liang Fuxin from Capital Normal University Delivers Academic Lecture at Wuhan Institute of Technology.
News Release (Correspondents: Du Hongmiao, Huang Yuanxin) On the morning of July 15th, Professor Liang Fuxin from the Department of Chemistry, Capital Normal University, was invited to deliver an academic report at the 2026 High-end Forum for the First-Class Discipline of Chemical Engineering and Technology. The report meeting was presided over by Professor Yu Xianglin, Vice Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering and Pharmacy.

Professor Liang Fuxin delivered a presentation entitled Large-Scale Fabrication and Engineering Application Exploration of Janus Particles. He introduced the definition and research background of Janus particles, and pointed out that challenges in their large-scale preparation hinder industrial development. He shared the team’s original fabrication methodology named “interface-confined materialization”. Through emulsion polymerization, the team achieved precise regulation of Janus particles and ten-thousand-ton-level industrial production. The team has developed composite particles and energy storage microcapsules, completed engineering demonstrations in fields including wastewater treatment, green building materials, functional coatings and thermal management, and formed a complete industrial chain from fundamental research to industrial application.
During the interactive session, faculty and students engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge engineering issues, such as the regulation technology of emulsion polymerization for Janus particles, core bottlenecks in scaling up ten-thousand-ton production lines, long-term stability of materials in oily wastewater systems, practical thermal management performance of phase-change energy storage microcapsules, and difficulties in the transformation of industry-university-research achievements. Drawing on years of experience in fundamental research and industrial transformation, Professor Liang provided detailed responses to each question. He shared practical ideas concerning process optimization, cost control and engineering demonstration implementation, offering practical guidance and feasible suggestions for teachers and students on research topic selection and achievement commercialization.

This academic seminar was jointly organized by the Graduate School and the School of Chemical Engineering and Pharmacy. The school’s administrative leadership, together with teachers and students from relevant majors, attended the lecture. (Reviewed by Yang Haibo, Yu Xianglin)
